You Chose Money Over Justice” — How Mohbad’s Father Betrayed His Late Son by Allegedly Accepting a N50 million Bribe From One Nigerian Artiste

Outrage is growing online as fresh claims emerge suggesting that Mr. Joseph Aloba, father of late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, may have compromised the pursuit of justice for his son after allegedly accepting a N50 million offer from Nigerian singer Naira Marley.

In a now-viral Instagram post by @cutie_juliss, the late Mohbad’s father was accused of switching sides in the investigation into his son’s mysterious death, reportedly after being promised a large sum of money by Naira Marley—one of the individuals previously linked to allegations of bullying Mohbad.

According to the post, Mr. Aloba initially had a chance to press charges and support investigations into those suspected of tormenting his son. However, it is alleged that he shifted his loyalty to Naira Marley after being promised N50 million and began publicly blaming Mohbad’s widow, Wunmi, instead.

“As Naira promised him 50 million Naira that time, he began supporting Naira and pushing all blame on WUNMI his daughter-in-law,” the post stated.

But things appear to have taken a new turn. With Naira Marley reportedly acquitted and discharged of all allegations linked to Mohbad’s death, the post says Mr. Aloba went back to demand money, only to discover he had been cut off. He is now trying to press charges on Naira Marley, who had initially given him N2 million.

“Jose went back to Naira for his money. As he realised that Naira has run him street, he now decided to press charges against Naira… Oloshi… come get out of our faces and go enjoy the first 2 million that Naira gave you.”

The post continued, adding a stinging final jab, “Sebi you don spend am for lawyer? Olorinbrukuuu, next time behave.”
