Wike Reveals How Tinubu’s Major Critic Privately Begged Him to Construct a Road in His Community
Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), revealed that a prominent critic of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration privately requested road construction projects for his area, despite publicly opposing the government.
During the inauguration ceremony of the Mohammed Isa Road Extension project in Asokoro District, Abuja, on Monday, Wike disclosed that an anonymous critic admitted not all criticisms against Tinubu’s government are meant to be taken seriously
Speaking to the crowd, Wike stated, “My dear brothers and sisters, today is the 10th day since we began launching various projects across the city of Abuja. These include roads, water initiatives, and street lighting.”
Today, we’re in Asokoro. I vividly remember a prominent critic of President Bola Tinubu’s administration—whose name I’ll keep private—approaching me to say, “You’ve been developing infrastructure across various cities.”
“What about those of us in Asokoro Extension or on Mohammed Isa Road?” I reminded him that the President, with our assistance, has certainly been delivering infrastructure to other cities.
Wike mentioned that the critic recognized this and conceded, “I should let it go; not everything they say needs to be taken seriously.”
