SETTING THE RECORDD STRAIGHT; OUR TRANSACTIONS WITH THE SENATOR
RE: MALLAM OLUSOLA FAROUQ S.A YOUTH TO SENATOR IPINSAGBA
We are obligated to reply to Pastor Senator Olajide Ipinsagba, after he replied through his aides on youth on affairs on the lingering issues of crass failure, incompetence and disruptor of democratic norms.
The refined youth and gentleman, Olusola Farouk wrote brilliantly and chose to follow the proverbial yoruba adage, “Ti a ba run omo ni ise eru, a fi ti Omo je”. We must, therefore, cut him some slack for his retentive memory and general assessment of the leadership as a team of “Refined, Excellent Intellectuals.” Unlike the oppressed previously sent by Senator Jide, FAROUQ is a hardworking youth like many of us. Inspired by duty to serve, however under a treacherous general. Senator Ipinsagba has used the weapon of poverty to cow a paltry few into submission for his failure to keep to the Abuja accord.
BACKGROUND
Indeed, after a long agitation for youth inclusiveness, on May 28th, 2024, senator Jide invited the apex leadership of Ondo North Youth to Abuja for dialogue. As a proactive and responsible body, we obliged.
OUR DEMANDS AND ABUJA ACCORD WITH THE SENATOR:
After a beautiful and robust intellectual discussion with the senator, we agreed on very important areas to advance the growth and development of our districts.
1. ICT: We made a case ICT is the new roadmap for development. Our presentation and demand was for the construction of ICT HUB/INCUBATION CENTRE where our people can major in tech. We proposed 30 people as start up. After about 3-6 months training, they will be responsible for the transfer of knowledge and value chain
2. Agricultural Development: We agreed Ondo North is rich in green vegetation. Therefore the senator should ensure collaboration with traditional rulers and local authorities to lease land for agricultural purposes and assist with in mechanized farming. Instead of the cosmetic projects in the name of agricultural empowerment. We proposed arable crops, such as Tomatoes, Rice, Kano beans, pepper, watermelon etc. The senator stands to gain a lot from the supply value chain. Through this method we can subsidize the cost of foos for families in Ondo North. Thereby forcing more development to the north and making it the cynosure of all eyes. It is trite to say, because it is not a means of embezzlement, it therefore won’t make meaning. Sad indeed.There was a country.
3. Entrepreneurship: We proposed that through training and retraining we can kindle the spirit of entrepreneurship. We in turn, promised the senator to use our network to bring in development partners who are keen on such giant project that aligns with SDG and seek to eradicate poverty.
4. We discussed youth inclusiveness and facilitation of employment for graduates who are professionals, so as to help them build their career.
5. We raised the issues of consistent engagement with the youths and constituents.
6. We agitated on fulfilment of his campaign promises of absolute effective and democratic representation
The Senator promised that all these were lofty ideas, and he promised to implement them before 2025. A platform was initiated tagged: “ALLIANCE AND SYNERGY”. This made us agree and adopted to be his youths. This platform was to enhance the implementation of the goals. Barely 3 months after the meeting the senator disbanded the platform with the excuse the leadership of the youths had engaged with other elected and appointed representatives from the district. Our goals are clear, it is to DEVELOP ONDO NORTH. We find it therefore important to meet with other stakeholders. It is the height of poor and ineffective representation to say the least or cowardice, low self esteem, weakness and very terrible sense of judgment. A blatant misfire. All efforts to restore confidence of the senator failed. Well, ours is to see the materialization of the tangible of democracy, we therefore kept faith and hopes alive, that all promises made in the interests of the youths will be fulfilled. From that moment till date, it has been the usual politics. The youths have therefore ran out of patience. Enough is Enough. We are ready to take our destiny into our own hands.
ON OUR TRANSACTIONS WITH THE SENATOR
First Transaction:
After the meeting, the Senator gave the sum of 1 million naira to the leadership to support its logistics. I was also informed that his aide who is in charge of youths and students further supported with #500,000 making it a total sum of 1.5 Million naira. I presumed he made that support because of the ridiculous amount of 1 million given by the senator to carter for hotel accommodation, feeding and possibly transportation. The executives were not perturbed because ours is not the monetary gains. Regrettably, that sum, divided among the 12 representatives will amount to #125, 000 each. Lol. Using my bills as a case study: Below is the Review of my expenditure then:
Flight ticket to and fro:
255,000 Naira, cost of hotel accommodation: 35,000 ×2 nights. Cost of feeding: 60,000. Cost of revolutionary liquor: over 50, 000. Cumulatively #435,000 was my minimum bill. If the senator is religious enough, he can tell the difference between 125,000 to 435,000. Enough of this legislative rascality. The attempt to intellectually masturbate the people into believing he gave us 1 million corroborate by another 500,000 by his aide should make the senator hide is face in same.
SECOND PHASE:
The senator after deliberately inviting us to Manuex Palace where we paid a minimum sum of #2000, on December 24th, 2025, to gain acces to see our senator invited the leadership representatives to his Ikare home town.
He promised heaven and earth and that he had made provison for the youths. I raised observation on having to pay money to meet with him, the senator downplayed same. Many political associates of the senator has also confirmed to us in confidence they also pay such amount to access the senator. In the disguise of business premises and to ensure patronage to his business the senator according to associates always fixes meetings there.
The senator therefore gave #500,000 after agitation to carter for the cost of transportation of the youths and students who came to visit him December 25th 2024.
The senators aid collected Kazeem collected #190,000 from the money.
#80,000 was given to the student leader. Two senior cadre were given 50,000 naira and the cost of fueling the vehicles out of disappointment with the Senators 2kg of rice demanded for refund.
What I collected was absolutely a refund of my money. I can no longer fund Senator Jide Ipinsagba despite his poor representation.
ON THE RICE
Senator Jide Ipinsagba did not give bags of rice (50KG) but 2kg rebagged rice. A total of 170 was counted as against the 200. The senator can ask his aides or maybe he inflated it himself. Ondo North Youth leadership was only give 10 piece of the 2kg rice, making it a total of 20KG. It is surprising to hear the drama associated with rice. Let the senator come out and dispute these facts. If out of the trailers he spoke to the public about, only 20KG is meant for the Youths of Ondo North. I can afford to gift the senator a bag of rice (50KG) as refunds for what he offered the youths. Shame!!! Shame!!! Shame!!!
AGREEMENT IS AGREEMENT
We agreed to be Ipinsagba Youth based on his promises to be responsive in the development of our district. I have however read it on paper that he is the 4th senatorial representative of Delta State. Making Ondo State short of one representation.
The senator in the usual political implementation chose to share laptops failing the fundamental requisite of giving deliberate training and skills development. Yet took to media.
We wish to state, anyone who fails to develop a People and the society lays the bed for doomsday. For those who prefer to develop the society and leave the people out, the people will destroy the society. More so, that developing the people and leaving the society, those people will leave the society for greener pasture (Japa) and allow it to ruin. The senator has failed abysmally and should stop claiming victim. He should be prepared to fight the army of the people seeking their eternal liberation.
We hereby offer the senator to come clean to the public and lay bare his facts, if he has a contrary or superior one.
In Oka, as we speak, there is a land dispute within thr senatorial that has led to killings, the senator is either unaware or unconcerned. He has failed abysmally.
Where and what is our crime in all of these?
