UBRBDA Governing Board Chairman Barayan Bauchi Hails President Tinubu and Prof. Ali Pate
The Chairman of the Upper Benue River Basin Development Authority (UBRBDA), Alhaji Sanusi Baban Takko (Barayan Bauchi), has commended President Ahmed Bola Tinubu for his visionary approach to national development. The President’s approval of the “Renewed Ward Projects” across 8,809 wards nationwide is a significant landmark in his efforts towards self-reliance and human capital development at the grassroots level. In this regards, we say bravo to our able and dynamic President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (Jagaban) for showing the way and laying the solid foundation for Nigerian greatness.
This initiative is in line with the African aphorism, “Instead of giving a child fish, teach him how to fish.” President Tinubu’s efforts will empower millions of youths across the country, enabling them to compete favourably with their counterparts in industrialized societies. The Chairman noted that countries like the United States of America and Asian nations have achieved greatness through human capital development.
Alhaji Sanusi Baban Takko praised President Tinubu’s commitment to grassroots development, citing his landmark Supreme Court victory against the 36 State Governors where it was held that “States and Local Governments Join Account is Unknown to Law.” The ruling established that funds should directly go to the grassroots for accelerated development. The Chairman described this feat as a commendable achievement by the President.
The Chairman also extended his commendation to Professor Muhammad Ali Pate, the Supervising Minister of Health and Social Welfare, for his efforts in revitalizing Primary Health Care Centres (PHCs) across Nigeria. This initiative aligns with President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which prioritises the well-being of ordinary Nigerians. As the saying goes, “Health is Wealth,” a further manifestation of Jagaban of Nigeria’s commitment to the greatest good of all Nigerians.
Since his appointment, Professor Ali Pate has justified his role by establishing more Federal Medical Centres, including the recently approved centres in Azare, Bauchi State, in Kafanchan, Kaduna State and other Geopolitical Zones. The Chairman appealed to Governors, critical stakeholders, and the FCT Minister to complement President Tinubu’s and Professor Ali Pate’s efforts in nation-building.
The Barayan Bauchi concluded by praising Professor Ali Pate’s international exposure, past pedigree, and interactions with global scholars and development partners. These attributes have added value to President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda initiative in just 2 years, particularly in the healthcare sector. The Governing Board Chairman cited the example of free cesarean operations, which have alleviated the financial burden on thousands of pregnant women.
Alhaji Sanusi Baban Takko also quoted the illuminating words of Albert Spencer, which says, “No one shall be free, until all are free; no one shall be okay until all are okay; likewise, no one shall be happy, until all are perfectly happy.” This quote underscores the importance of inclusive development and the need for collective progress.
In closing, Alhaji Sanusi Baban Takko urged Nigerians to be patient, persevering, and enduring, as more good tidings are forthcoming under the leadership of President Ahmed Bola Tinubu and Professor Muhammad Ali Pate. The Chairman Upper Benue River Basin Development Authority quoted Andre Gide, saying, “Success is a product of good ideas.” He encouraged Nigerians to keep the flag flying.
