Trump to Host 5 African Presidents on July 9 — But Tinubu’s Nigeria Not Invited!
In a significant diplomatic gathering set for July 9, U.S. President Donald Trump will welcome leaders from five African countries:
Gabon, Liberia, Senegal, Mauritania, Guinea-Bissau, But where’s Nigeria? Nowhere to be found.
This has sparked a lot of questions: What happened to Nigeria — often called Africa’s “Giant”?
Unfortunately, our so-called “giant” seems to be stumbling under the weight of the APC’s poor leadership. While other nations are busy forging economic ties, Nigeria’s President Tinubu is off enjoying a vacation in St. Lucia, collecting ceremonial titles — all while insecurity, poverty, and hunger continue to rise back home.
Under the APC, we’ve gone from being one of the fastest-growing economies globally to barely scraping by. Tinubu has reportedly traveled to 40 countries but has managed to attract less than $3 billion in foreign direct investment. That’s less than $15 for each Nigerian in a country of over 200 million people.
Meanwhile, the USA imported a whopping $136 billion in goods from Vietnam, yet only $32 billion from the entire African continent. Nigeria, Africa’s largest economy, remains unproductive, unstable, and unable to take off.
Until we tackle our electricity issues and stop electing corrupt septuagenarians, we’ll continue to be the laughingstock of Africa.
