Tribute by Asooto Oluwatoyin ( Legal Secretary, Owo Anglican Diocese).

It is with a heavy heart that I received the news of the demise of our beloved Chancellor. Little did I know that morning, that God was going to call you home. It broke my heart to lose you and it’s a big loss to the entire Owo Anglican Diocese.
He was such a sound, fearless and courageous man , I cannot hurriedly forget your parlance, “ Mr Talk and Do” , He distinguished himself as a brilliant scholar and a refined Senior Advocate of Nigeria having held several positions in the church and in the society. Borrowing from the quote of the famous playwright, William Shakespeare in 1599 tragedy “ Julius Caesar “ “His Life was gentle and the elements so well mixed in him , that nature might stand up and say to all the world, This was A Man”.
He was an embodiment of peace, charity and God fearing, a man that truly loved God. His dedication to the things of God was second to none, I remember the first time I met him was in the church,St Thomas Anglican Church, Owo in the 90s as one of the harvest chairperson and the last time I saw him was also in the church during the 40th Anniversary of Owo Anglican Diocese. He was indeed a great worshipper and most of his songs centered on life being a transient, vanity upon vanity. Although I have placed solace in God and have my consolation in the word of God in Romans 14:8 “ If we live, we live for the Lord, and if we die, we die for the Lord. Therefore, whether we live or die we belong to God.
To my dear Chancellor I bid you Goodnight.
