Tragedy Strikes the Heart of Nigeria: His Excellency Senator Kabiru Ibrahim Gaya Mourns the Loss of Kano State Athletes

It is with a heavy heart and profound sadness that I join the former Executive Governor of Kano State and Distinguished Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, *Senator Kabiru Ibrahim Gaya, FNIA*, in mourning the tragic loss of over twenty athletes from Kano State who met their untimely demise in a ghastly motor accident at *Dakatsalle, Kura Local Government Area of Kano State*, while returning home as the Kano State contingent from the just concluded *National Sports Festival*.
Senator Kabiru Ibrahim Gaya has extended his heartfelt condolences to the families of the departed athletes. The tragic incident has sent shockwaves across the nation, leaving behind a trail of grief, sorrow, and devastation.
The Senator and former Executive Governor of Kano State expressed deep sorrow over the loss of these vibrant and promising young individuals, whose lives were devoted to discipline, unity, and the pursuit of excellence through sports. Their untimely departure is a profound loss not only to their families and the Kano sporting community but to the entire nation, which mourns with heavy hearts.

Prayers were offered by the Senator for the repose of their souls, beseeching *Almighty Allah (SWT)* to grant them eternal rest in *Aljannatul Firdaus*. He also called for divine strength and patience for the bereaved families, urging them to find solace in faith and the enduring legacy left behind by their loved ones.
To those currently recuperating from injuries sustained in the accident, Senator Kabiru Ibrahim Gaya prayed for swift and complete healing, entrusting them to the mercy and care of *Almighty Allah*.
The former Governor of Kano State further encouraged authorities, sports institutions, and the general public to rally around the affected families in this hour of grief. He emphasized that true strength as a nation lies in unity, compassion, and unwavering support for one another during moments of tragedy.
