This would be President Muhammadu Buhari’s first official return to the federal capital since he left at the end of his stint as President on the 29th of May last year.

President Bola Tinubu, General Yakubu Gowon, a former head of state, and other former leaders on Tuesday attended the book launch ceremony to honour Nigerian immediate President Muhammadu Buhari in Abuja.

Those who were also present are; former Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, the former First Lady, Aisha Buhari, the Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio, among several others.

The book written by Femi Adesina would be given alongside five volumes of another book titled Muhammadu Buhari, The Nigerian Legacy, 2015 to 2023, The Nation reports.

This would be President Muhammadu Buhari’s first official return to the federal capital since he left at the end of his stint as President on the 29th of May last year.

It will be one of the rare times where the current president, who is the special guest of honour, and the past president, will appear together publicly since the handover of May 29.

Ministers from President Buhari’s federal cabinet, as well as senior presidential aides, are in attendance for the book launch, which is taking place at the Transcorp Hilton hotel in Abuja’s conference hall.

This book launch ceremony is being held amid a series of reports of terrorist attacks and kidnappings in the country.

For Instance, SaharaReporters recently reported how residents of the Nahuta community in Katsina State’s Batsari Local Government Area fled their houses in fear of an attack by terrorists.

This came after it was widely reported that a group of terrorists successfully dislodged a joint military base meant to protect Nahuta community on Sunday.

Katsina is the home state of Muhammdu Buhari.
