Tinubu Approves New Conditions Of Service For Nigerian Armed Forces

Dada Olusegun, the Special Assistant to the President on Social Media, announced the development via his verified X handle.

 

President Bola Tinubu has approved the new Harmonised Terms and Conditions of Service (HTACOS) for the officers and enlisted personnel of the Nigerian Armed Forces.

This approval came on Monday during a National Defence Council meeting at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

Dada Olusegun, the Special Assistant to the President on Social Media, announced the development via his verified X handle. He described the approval as a significant step towards improving the welfare of soldiers, ratings, and airmen.

 

President Tinubu presides over the National Defense Council meeting, approved the new harmonised terms and conditions of service (HTACOS) officers, soldiers/ratings/airmen,” Olusegun wrote.

The new HTACOS aims to tackle longstanding challenges in the military, offering a unified framework to streamline policies and enhance service conditions across all levels.

The initiative highlights the administration’s commitment to boosting the morale and operational readiness of the armed forces, which play a crucial role in maintaining national security.

During the meeting, President Tinubu reaffirmed his dedication to the welfare of military personnel, stressing the importance of their contributions in safeguarding Nigeria’s territorial integrity and stability.

The approval is in line with the administration’s wider agenda of welfare reforms and institutional strengthening.

Further details of the revised service terms are expected to be provided by the Ministry of Defence in the coming days.
