Different versions of the ongoing investigation involving the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation Betta Edu have rented the air.

The reactions it has generated is expected given the dynamic and cerebral persons or person involved.

Most of those calling for the head of our Minister are from the oppositions and archenemies of the hard-working woman who has displayed uncommon commitment in alleviating the plights of the poor.

While we commend President Bola Tinubu for his avowed disposition in combating corruption in all ramifications, we implore him not to cave in to the impious plot by naysayers to poison his mind against the embattled fellows.

Kogi State may not have an airport but there is an airstrip to accommodate aircrafts. So, the fuss and mockery is unnecessary.

Although the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), has taken over the case, which we do not want to preempt its findings, we implore Mr President to be lenient with the Minister and all those affected since she, in particular, is a first time ‘offended.’

You will all agree with me that Betta Edu, before tye saga, has been championing the Renewed Hope Agenda of Mr President diligently by traveling to different places to identify with the vulnerable and feed the poor.

The good work she has started should not be blighted by ill-advised mistake she has made, which could have happened to anyone.

The fight against poverty should continue with a woman like Betta Edu who understands the terrains and knows how to navigate the roads to reach the poor.

We assure Mr President of our support to expose those behind the scandal and to blow our whistle to expose corrupt individuals who want to undermine his government.

Also, we urge all those beating the drum of war to desist from it. The may claim to love Nigeria, but their inciting remarks will plunge Nigeria into deeper problems. The criticisms should be genuine godly.
