THE MOMENT IS NOW – SENATOR AL-MAKURA FOR APC NATIONAL CHAIRMAN:

Distinguish Senator Dr. Umar Tanko Al-Makura has fully submitted himself for the seat of National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) , with the return of forms the current ruling party has made it clear that Chairmanship of the party would be in the hands of a substantive leader to take them beyond elections.

In March 2020 a High Court of the Federal Capital Territory sitting at Jabi ordered a temporary suspension of Adams Oshiomhole as the National Chairman of the All Progressive Congress, APC. Since the court , in a ruling directed that the Party Chairman (Adams Oshiomhole) should remain out of office pending the determination of a substantive suit that was brought against him by some aggrieved members of the party, which led to his removal from office.

Senator Umaru Tanko Al-Makura after months of waiting is seen in THE MOMENT. The consultations have been done , visits have been done , now the form has been returned for the Chairmanship position of the ruling party zoned to the North Central Geopolitical zone to produce a successor to the Yobe State Governor and caretaker Chairman of the party, Mai Mala Buni to lead the 40 million member strong APC from Saturday the 26th of March 2022.

Sen. Al-Makura the only State Governor to emerge from the 63rd political party to be founded in the country , the defunct Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) of Gen. Muhammadu Buhari. Founded on the ideology of Social liberalism,Federalism and Social conservatism, which the masses used to bring Governor Al-Makura to Government House in 2011, and him carrying on a philosophy, aimed at bettering the lot of the people reelected him under the APC as Governor and as a Senator

Seen as one of the most progressive minded politicians as 2021 a thoroughbred politician, with manifest experience in party administration, governance and legislative procedures, Senator Al-Makura, presents the right mix of accomplished leadership qualities, that will not only add value to the APC, but will facilitate, sustain and build on the successes recorded by the party so far and he is prepared for it.

Senator Al-makura at various times was the state youth leader of the defunct National Party of Nigeria (NPN), state secretary of the National Republican Convention (NRC), as well as a member of the constituent assembly.
During his eight-year reign as governor of Nasarawa State, Senator Al-makura exhibited uncommon prowess in political brinkmanship, having supervised the ousting of the then ruling party in the state, and to usher in an administration predicated on a philosophy, aimed at bettering the lot of the people.

The Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) was a political party founded in Nigeria in 2009 in preparation for the April 2011 elections. February 2013, the party merged with the Action Congress of Nigeria, the All Nigeria Peoples Party, and a faction of the All Progressives Grand Alliance to form the All Progressives Congress
The Congress for Progressive Change originated in The Buhari Organization (TBO) formed in 2006 by General Muhammadu Buhari, a former military ruler of Nigeria, and his associates. The first National Chairman was Kano Central Senator Rufai Hanga. After the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) nominated Buhari as its 2007 presidential candidate, TBO worked with the ANPP in the election campaign, but there was friction between the two groups. Following the April 2007 elections, in which President Umaru Yar’adua was elected, Buhari instituted a court appeal against the result. The ANPP decided to join Yar’Adua in his government of national unity, and attempted to persuade Buhari to withdraw the suit, indicating lack of full support for Buhari in the ANPP. Buhari decided that he needed a new platform to support his political ambitions.
