Six die, five injured in multiple Anambra road crash

A yet-to-be-identified persons have been killed in a multiple fatal road crash that occurred by Green Energy Oil and Gas Station by Eke Awgbu along the Agulu-Awgbu Road in Anaocha Local Government Area of Anambra State.

PUNCH Metro gathered that the crash, which occurred at about 10 am on Tuesday, involved about 11 persons and three vehicles, including a motorcycle.

State, Corps Commander Adeoye Irelewuyi, commiserated with the families of the dead victims, and sent his prayers to the injured persons.

“He urged motorists to maintain a safe speed and drive within the speculated speed limit to arrive at their destination alive. Kill the speed now before it kills you,” she added.

Meanwhile, the authorities of the Anambra State Internal Revenue Service, have denied claims that their agents were responsible for the road crash.

The AIRS, in a statement shortly after the accident, said the accident was caused by the inability of the truck driver, who failed to derail the truck decently when the truck failed brakes on the sloppy road.

Similarly, one person was injured in an accident along the Awka-Enugu Expressway.

It was gathered that the lone crash involved a Mack truck with registration number: UWN238ZL, and the cause of the crash was brake failure.
