Prince Alaba Arohunmolase Leads Major Defection to APC in Akoko North West, Ondo State
In a historic political development, Prince Alaba Arohunmolase, the esteemed former PDP chairman of Akoko North West Local Government, has spearheaded a major defection of over 350 supporters to the All Progressives Congress (APC). This strategic move is poised to reshape the political landscape of the region as the 2027 general elections approach.
Prince Arohunmolase, who served as PDP chairman for ten years, is a highly respected figure in Akoko North West. His defection, along with supporters from the PDP, Labour Party, and the African Democratic Congress (ADC), marks a significant realignment of political allegiance in the area, signaling growing confidence in the APC’s vision and leadership.
The defection was facilitated by the Hon. Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji Ojo, whose dynamic leadership and personal engagement played a pivotal role. The new defectors openly credited the Minister for his one-on-one interactions, attentively addressing their concerns and inspiring them to embrace the APC.
During the event, defectors praised the Hon. Minister’s commitment to good governance, innovative policies, and people-centered initiatives. The ceremony was graced by prominent APC leaders, including State Chairman Engineer Ade Adetimehin, Akoko North West Local Government Party Chairman Hon. Kehinde Obanla (Ajapara), Hon. Representing the Governor, the Hon. Commissioner for Water Resources and Public Sanitation, Hon. Ayodele Akande, also attended the event, highlighting the state government’s support for the political alignment and development agenda.
