ONDO NYCN: Ogunmolawa led executives dissociate self from the porpurted dissolution.

Our attention has been drawn to a purported dissolution of the State NYCN Exco and the Management Committee Meeting of NYCN Ondo State Chapter held at the Office of the Honourable Commissioner, Ministry of Youth & Sports Development Akure on Friday,the 7th June 2024 under the guise of resolving the leadership crisis orchestrated by some known Council Political jobbers in Ondo State.

Setting the records straight, It is obvious that the conveyor of the said meeting pretend to forget so soon by introducing an alien process to our constitution by calling a management meeting to shortchanged and stampede the existing and recognised Executive members of the Youth Council in Ondo State Chapter.

We humbly want to quickly remind the actors of *Article 27: Schedule (2b)iv /v of the Constitution of the National Youth Council of Nigeria 2018 as amended* which states that “the Secretary General at the instance of the President/Chairman shall summon all meetings of the Youth Council that involves the NEC, same applies to all levels of the Executive Council of the NYCN. All meetings shall be presided over by the President/Chairman”

This particular step taken has no doubt potentially undermined the Constitution of the National Youth Council of Nigeria and is tantamount to cause more crisis for the Ondo State Youths as well as to bring the image of the Ministry of Youth and Sport into disrepute in as much as the existing Executive members of the Council under the leadership of Pathfinder Ogunmolawa Matthew Adewale are still existing in accordance with the constitution of the National Youth Council of Nigeria 2018 as amended. suffice to say, the principal actors has formally served at the National level and it’s laughable to see them distant themself from NYCN legal workings and norms of the 21st century.

We urge the public to disregard the outcome of the said meeting and the purported dissolution of the State Executive members since the conveyors of the meeting lacks constitutional right/ power to call for any NYCN official meeting in Ondo State going by the Constitution of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) 2018 as amended in the first place while it is the sole duty/responsibility of the recognized State Chairman to call for the State Management Committee meeting of which there is no justification for her conveyance at the moment.

For the upteenth time, it is high time, the aforesaid elements refrain from using the name of Ondo State Government to perfect their heinous agenda in the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Ondo Chapter.

However, Recall the Ministry of Youth Development plays only a supervisory cum advisory role over NYCN and has no locus standi to interfere with the affairs of its leadership or mandate any person / group to act in any capacity that is not assigned by the Constitution of National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) 2018 as amended; while we urge the Honourable Commissioner not to cross the rubicon for sanity sake.

We assure Ondo State Youth of robust representation in our quest for a just society.
