Olubadan-Designate, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, Delays Return to Ibadan
The Olubadan-designate, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, has postponed his return to Ibadan, Oyo State, until July 28, after the 21-day mourning period for the late Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin
According to palace sources, Ladoja decided to respect the mourning period, which commenced on July 8, following the age-long tradition of Ibadan land. He directed the Ekerin Olubadan, Oba Amidu Ajibade, and the Ekerin Balogun, Akeem Adewoyin, to reopen the Olubadan Palace at Oke-Aremo to receive sympathizers on his behalf.
An insider revealed that Ladoja chose to delay his return to avoid rejoicing during the mourning period. He believes in mourning with those who are mourning and celebrating with those who are celebrating, as stated in the Bible.
Ladoja is expected to return to Ibadan between July 27 and July 28. His media aide, Adeola Oloko, declined to comment on the specific date of Ladoja’s return.
