No Gree’ For Terrorists, Criminals In 2024 – Nigerian Military Headquarters Joins Trending Slogan

The Nigerian Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has joined the trending 2024 slogan as it has urged Nigerians to “No gree for terrorists” this year by preventing terrorists from having free rein in the country.

The Director of Defence Media Operations, Edward Buba, who made the call on Thursday in Abuja while addressing journalists, asked Nigerians to be security conscious and report criminal activities in their environments to security operatives, promising that the military would take action on such tip-offs.

Alluding to the trending 2024 slogan of “no gree for anybody” which the Nigeria Police Force has rather warned Nigerians to refrain from using, the Director of Defence Media Operations said in Pidgin language, “Make Nigerians no gree for terrorists this year. You see something, you say something and we assure them of doing something.”

Whereas Buba seems to encourage the use of the slogan, SaharaReporters earlier reported that the Nigeria Police Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, on Wednesday during a press briefing in Abuja warned against the use of the slogan, saying that it was capable of causing crisis in the country.

Adejobi said that “No gree for anybody” is a slogan coming from a revolutionary sector that may likely cause problems across Nigeria

But Buba, who asked Nigerians to rise against terrorists in the country, noted that the aim of the military in 2024 was to locate and destroy the terrorists wherever they were hiding across the country.

Buba said the aim of ongoing operations remained unchanged and clear even in the new year 2024.

“We aim to find and destroy the terrorists wherever they may be hiding to ensure their enduring defeat. This would deny the terrorists the ability to terrorise or hurt citizens across the country.

“Our operations indicate that we are hunting the terrorist commanders and their senior leadership. Indeed, from their topmost leadership to the lowest commanders are dead men walking and we will stop at nothing until they are dead or surrender.”

He further stated that military operations in the last two weeks had resulted in the killing of 86 terrorists, while 101 had been arrested.

He said, “Our operations resulted in 86 neutralised terrorists with 101 of them arrested. Troops also arrested 30 perpetrators of oil theft and rescued 21 kidnapped hostages
