NIMC revises price structure for ALL services
The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has announced a review of the pricing structure for all its services.
The NIMC announced the price changes in a statement on Thursday, signed by Kayode Adegoke, its head of corporate communications.
The commission stated that the new prices will take effect immediately, but did not specify whether Nigerians will pay more or less for its services.
However, TheCable understands that the new prices will be uploaded on the commission’s website from tomorrow (Friday).
Speaking on the rationale for the decision, the NIMC said the move aims to align with prevailing operational costs and industry benchmarks while ensuring affordability for Nigerians.
The commission stated that the revised rates, resulting from a comprehensive review, are intended to sustain the quality and integrity of its services.
“NIMC warns all Front-End Partners (FEPs) to adhere strictly to the new pricing structure. Any FEP found charging more than the approved rates will face sanctions, including license revocation,” the statement reads.
“NIMC is committed to protecting the interests of Nigerians and ensuring that our services are delivered at fair and transparent prices.”
“The new pricing structure will be published on NIMC’s website — www.nimc.gov.ng (where it will be accessible to all Nigerians and relevant stakeholders.”
NIMC also encouraged Nigerians to report any FEPs charging above the approved rates to its inspectorate and enforcement Unit via ieu@nimc.gov.ng or by calling 08155015388.
Commenting on the development, Abisoye Coker-Odusote, director-general of NIMC, expressed appreciation to Nigerians, government agencies, and partners for their continued support.
She specifically thanked President Bola Tinubu, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, the minister of interior, harmonisation partners, and the staff of NIMC for their role in building a robust national identity system.
On April 1, the NIMC said enrollment for the national identity number (NIN) increased to 117,361,324 as of February 28, 2025.
