Nigerian Police Service Commission Sets Date For DCP To CP Promotion Exam, Lists 14 Officers
The message advised the officers to “refresh their memories” in key areas including core police duties, professional studies, law, local acts, and dress codes ahead of the session.
The Police Service Commission (PSC) has scheduled a promotion examination and interactive session for senior police officers seeking elevation from the rank of Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) to Commissioner of Police (CP).
This was contained in an internal wireless message dated November 25, 2025, issued by the Nigeria Police Force Secretary (NIGPOL FORSEC) in Abuja and circulated to all zonal commands, formations, departments and state commands across the country.
According to the signal, the promotion interview will hold on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at the Hon. Chairman’s Conference Room, Corporate Headquarters of the Police Service Commission, Plot 64, Cadastral Zone, Jabi, Abuja. The exercise is scheduled to commence at 8:00 a.m. prompt.
The Inspector General of Police directed that the following Deputy Commissioners of Police be released to attend the interview: Johnson Ayodeji Babalola, Everistus Ugwoke, Adepegba K. Adetoye, Tabitha Bako, Umar Ali Fagge, Audu Garba Bosso, Edwin Esiunnoh Ogbegahagha and Arikpo Ofemi Ikpi.
Others are Cyril Uchenna Obiozo, Samuel Yerima Gimba, Alhaji Mohammed Danladi, Richard Bala Gara, Lasisi A. Titilola and Obuagbaka C. John.
The message advised the officers to “refresh their memories” in key areas including core police duties, professional studies, law, local acts, and dress codes ahead of the session.
They are expected to appear in conventional black jacket, beret, and swagger cane, according to the directive.
The wireless message further instructed that all listed officers report for briefing and transportation to the venue at 7:00 a.m. on the day of the interview.
Additionally, the Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Mobile Police (AIGPOL MOPOL) has been ordered to “provide 12 neatly turned-out armed personnel” for escort duties.
The Transport Department (TRANSFOR) is to deploy a serviceable vehicle for conveying the senior officers, as well as two serviceable Hilux vans for escort.
The vehicles are expected to be on standby at the Force Headquarters (FHQ) parade ground by 6:00 a.m. unfailingly.
The directive was marked “Confidential/Immediate” and emphasised that the instructions must be treated as very important.
