Niger Mother Shares Heartbre¶king Story of L0sing Daughter to Fl0od
Elizabeth Umoru, a grieving mother from Niger State, has recounted the tragic loss of her nine-year-old daughter, Omonegbo, who drowned in a flood after falling into a drainage system.
Omonogbo was on an errand to buy rice when the incident occurred on a rainy day. Her brother, who accompanied her, tried to rescue her but was unable to do so due to the strong floodwaters.
The body of the young girl was later recovered from another drainage system, far from the scene of the accident, with injuries to her head.
Elizabeth expressed her devastation, stating that Omonegbo was her husband’s favorite child and that her loss has left the family inconsolable.
The Niger State Emergency Management Agency has promised to visit the family to gather more information about the incident.
