An alumnus of Christ’s School Ado Ekiti, Igbobi College Yaba, and the University of Lagos, he became a prominent voice during Nigeria’s military era, using his platform to advocate for democracy, human rights, and accountable leadership.
His notable service as the Lagos State Commissioner for Information and Strategy from 1999 to 2007, under the administration of Governor Bola Ahmed Tinubu, marked a turning point in modern governance communication in Nigeria. During this period, he redefined public engagement, promoted civic participation, and helped to shape Lagos into a model of progressive governance.
Now serving as the Minister of Solid Minerals, Hon. Alake has taken on the challenge of transforming a long-neglected sector into a strategic pillar of Nigeria’s economic diversification agenda.
