Many Inmates Esc¶pe As Ja!lbreak h!ts Kwara Prison
A jailbreak occurred at the Juvenile Correctional Centre, Oko Erin in Kwara State on April 19, with nine out of eleven inmates escaping.
According to security expert, Zagazola Makama, the incident was reported at about 2200 hours by Joseph Issa, a staff member at the facility.
Police responded quickly and visited the scene, where they were able to re-arrest one of the escapees, identified as 15-year-old Abdul Raman Misa.
Misa has been returned to the centre, while efforts to apprehend the remaining eight fugitives are ongoing.
An investigation into the circumstances of the escape is currently in progress.
