Lagos unveils Nigeria’s first Local Government owned radio station

The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu has commissioned Nigeria’s first radio station owned and operated by a local government.

It is Ishokan 106.7 FM, built by Mushin Local Government.

Governor Sanwo-Olu, represented by his Deputy, Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, launched the station as part of several legacy projects executed by the Chairman of Mushin Local Government, Emmanuel Olanrewaju Bamigboye, at Oliyide Street, Mushin.

According to the Chairman, Mushin Local Government, the pioneering station underscores the importance of effective information dissemination to the populace.
