Lagos APC chairman welcomes Jandor, says he has a role ahead of 2027 elections

The Lagos state executive committee (SEC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has assured Abdul-Azeez Adediran, popularly known as Jandor, that he will not regret rejoining the party.

Cornelius Ojelabi, chairman of the APC in Lagos, spoke on Tuesday when Jandor led his Lagos4Lagos team to the party’s state secretariat to officially meet the executive committee.

While welcoming the former PDP governorship candidate back into the APC, Ojelabi said the party is large enough to accommodate him and his supporters.

The APC chairman said Jandor would forever be grateful for returning to the APC family as a foundation member.

While welcoming the former PDP governorship candidate back into the APC, Ojelabi said the party is large enough to accommodate him and his supporters.

The APC chairman said Jandor would forever be grateful for returning to the APC family as a foundation member.

“We were together, driving this party and growing this party before; it was just a matter of conviction that led to what happened,” he said.

“Realising that he (Adediran ) has a role to play as an indigene of the state now that we approach the 2027 general elections, he has decided to be part of us.

“We can see the calibre of people that accompanied him. I actually restricted the number, and to us, it’s a welcome development to have Jandor back home.

“I want to assure you that you have taken the right step. This is your party.

“I am pretty sure that the step taken today, April 29, won’t be regretted. We have accepted his reunion with the party. I bet you won’t regret the step taken.”

Ojelabi said the party had put machinery in place to reintegrate Jandor and accommodate his structure.

On his part, Jandor said he was on a formal visit to inform the chairman of his decision to return home and to the APC family.

“We are happy to come back to the winning family. We have come to join our numerical strength to that of the existing party strength to ensure that we keep winning for Nigerians,” he said.

Regarding his political ambition, Jandor said he would continue to exercise his constitutional rights in all elections, adding that his return to the APC is not to fight for positions or to dislodge anyone.

We are ready to submit ourselves to the party’s constitution,” Jandor said.

On March 17, Jandor returned to the ruling APC, noting that his defection reflected his unwavering commitment to the development of Lagos.
