Some bandits were said to have invaded the Gidan Busa in Doka ward of Kachia Local Government Area of Kaduna State, killing two residents and abducting 16 residents of the area on Friday night.
A source who craved anonymity said five people sustained gunshot wounds and currently receiving treatment at an undisclosed medical facility in the area.
This came in the wake of the euphoria of the killing of Isyaku Boderia, a dreaded bandit, said to have masterminded several high-profile attacks including the kidnap of Yauri school girls, Greenfield University, and breach of the Nigerian Defence Academy, had abducted and killed many villagers and prevented them access to their farms.
The infamous bandit kingpin, Boderi was killed by troops of 1 Division, Nigerian Army around Bada/Riyawa general areas of Chikun and Igabi LGAs in Kaduna state on Wednesday.
Boderi and his associates were ambushed and neutralized by military troops after a fierce gun battle.
However, on Friday night, bloodthirsty bandits again, struck Gidan Busa, shooting indiscriminately, killing two and kidnapping at least 16 residents of the area.
The source said the incident occurred around 11:30 pm when the villagers were fast asleep.
He said in the resident of one Alhaji Hassan, no fewer than eight people were abducted and his boy as well as a lady were killed while five others sustained gunshot wounds.
He said, “Yesterday night (Friday) bandits came to Gidan Busa and abducted 16 residents of the area, killing two while five sustained gunshot injury and currently receiving treatment in the hospital.
“In the resident of one Alhaji Hassan, the bandits abducted 8 persons including his wife and children and killed one of his boys and female.The incident occurred at about 11.30pm. Those that sustained gunshot wounds are receiving treatment in the hospital.”
There was no official confirmation from either the state government or the state police command.
But when contacted, the Kaduna State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, Mansir Hassan, told our correspondent that he was in transit and that he would reach out to the necesary authority and get back to our correspondent.
“I’m driving now. I will get back to you once I reach out to the Area Commander of the area,” he said.
However, as of the time of filing the report, the police spokesman had yet to get back to our corresponden
