Just In : Multichoice reveals what it will do to free one month subscription, 150m fine judgement

Multichoice Nigeria wants to appeal a N150 million fine given by the Competition and Consumer Protection Tribunal (CCPT) because they didn’t agree with the court’s decision.

The court who earlier imposed a N150 million fine on Multichoice Nigeria, also mandated them to give Nigerians a free month of DStv and GOtv.

This came after a lawyer named Festus Onifade from Abuja complained that the 8-day notice for the price hike was too short. Multichoice Nigeria doesn’t like the court’s decision and wants to appeal it.

The statement reads: “MultiChoice Nigeria is aware of the recent ruling by the Competition and Consumer Protection Tribunal, CCPT, regarding its jurisdiction to entertain a price regulation matter.

“We disagree with the ruling, and will therefore file an appeal against said ruling.

“As the matter is currently sub judice, we are restrained from making further comments.”
