Just In : Gunmen K!dnap university deputy Vice Chancellor

The Deputy Vice Chancellor, Abia State University Uturu, ABSU, Prof. Godwin Emezue was kidnapped on Friday by unidentified gunmen.

Prof. Emezue was abducted in a fuel station around Umuekwule, Amachara in Umuahia South LGA where he had gone to refill his tank, alongside his wife.

Eyewitness accounts say at least three men had accosted him at the fuel station, dragging him into a waiting Lexus SUV and collected his wife’s ATM card. The wife said the abductors sped away towards the Imo-Abia border around the Malaysian market.

When contacted, the spokesperson of Abia State Police Command, ASP Maureen Chinaka said she was yet to be briefed on the development.
