June 12 : Chief Lawrence Adenugba Greets Nigerians, Hails Tinubu, Aiyedatiwa, and Other Heroes of Democracy
As Nigeria marks Democracy Day today, a prominent chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from Ile-Oluji/Okeigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State, Chief Lawrence Adenugba, has extended warm greetings to Nigerians, commending their resilience and unwavering commitment to democratic ideals.
In a goodwill message released to commemorate the 2025 Democracy Day, Chief Adenugba celebrated the nation’s democratic journey and paid tribute to the sacrifices made by both past and present heroes of democracy. He praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his steadfast leadership and dedication to deepening democratic governance in the country.
“President Tinubu remains a symbol of democratic struggle in Nigeria. His courage, vision, and commitment to good governance have strengthened our institutions and inspired confidence in the future of our democracy,” Chief Adenugba stated.
The APC chieftain also lauded the efforts of Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, describing him as a man of integrity and purpose whose leadership continues to bring hope and development to the people of the state.
“Governor Aiyedatiwa has shown remarkable leadership at a time of great expectations. His administration’s policies and people-centered initiatives reflect the true spirit of democracy,” he added.
Chief Adenugba further encouraged Nigerians to remain united, uphold the rule of law, and actively participate in the democratic process. He called for continued vigilance, peaceful coexistence, and civic engagement as the country works towards sustainable growth and national cohesion.
“Democracy is not just about elections. It is about accountability, inclusion, justice, and the collective will of the people. As we celebrate June 12, let us honor the sacrifices of those who fought for freedom and keep their legacy alive through our actions,” he concluded.
June 12, now recognized as Nigeria’s official Democracy Day, commemorates the historic 1993 presidential election believed to be the freest and fairest in the nation’s history, and the resilience of Nigerians in the face of adversity.
