JOINT NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES, AKOKO* *NW CHAPTER, PAYS FAMILIARIZATION VISIT TO CHAIRMAN OWOLABI

The Joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities, Akoko Northwest chapter, led by it State Welfare Officer, Comrade Faseki Adeyemi, paid a familiarization visit to the Executive Chairman of Akoko Northwest, Hon. Esan Abiodun Owolabi, at his office in Okeagbe, Akoko Northwest Local Government Area of Ondo State, on Thursday, March 6,2025.

The visit was aimed to congratulate Chairman Owolabi on his victory and to bring to his attention the long-standing challenges faced by persons with disabilities in the area.

While addressing, Comrade Faseki Adeyemi, speaking on behalf of the group, appreciated the chairman for granting them an audience and listening attentively to their yarning requests.

Adeyemi highlighted the major problems faced by persons with disabilities, including lack of empowerment and neglect of their welfare by previous administrations.

However, he expressed hope that Chairman Owolabi’s administration would bring positive change.

“We have known Hon. Esan Owolabi as a good listener and a concerned leader, as his capacity and ability are unmatched. We are joyful that our local government has him at this critical period, Adeyemi said.

The group prayed for the chairman’s successful tenure and assured him of their total cooperation and support. We strongly believe that in this your administration, persons with disabilities in Akoko Northwest will have cause to smile again, they said.

They also solicited support for their “Disabled Day” celebrations, similar to those held in other places.

In his response, Chairman Owolabi thanked the group for their visit and assured them that he would do his best to address their requests. While speaking, the chairman said, My brothers, I pity your present conditions. The Lord is your strength,” he said.

Chairman Owolabi reassured the group that things would change for the better during his administration, not only for persons with disabilities but for the entire local government, with the support of our state governor, His Excellency Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, I assure you that we will witness transformation and positive change in our noble council,” he declared.
