JAMB announces cut-off marks for 2025 university admission
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has fixed the minimum scores required for admission into Nigeria’s tertiary institutions for the 2025 academic session.
According to the announcement made after a meeting with stakeholders, candidates seeking admission into universities must score at least 150 in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
For those applying to polytechnics and colleges of education, the cut-off is set at 100, while colleges of nursing sciences will admit candidates who score a minimum of 140.
JAMB also revealed the top-performing candidates in the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). Chinedu Christian Okeke from Anambra State scored the highest mark with 375 out of 400 and selected UNILAG for a degree in Mechanical Engineering.
The second position went to Simon-Peter John Ayuba from Gombe State, who scored 374 and picked Afe Babalola University (ABUAD) to study the same course. Jimoh Abdulmalik Olayinka from Kwara State came third with 373 and also chose Mechanical Engineering at UNILAG.
