INEC Declares Ife Ehindero Winner of Akoko North Bye-election

 

The independent national electoral commission (INEC) has declared the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Mr. Ifeoluwa Ehindero as the winner of the House of Representatives By-election for Akoko NorthEast/NorthWest Federal Constituency held in Ondo state on Saturday.

 

Declaring the results after collations, Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC Returning Officer, Prof. Johnson Fasinmirin of the Federal University of Technology, Akure, FUTA said the APC candidate polled thirty five thousand, five hundred and four votes to defeat his closest rival, Mr Bada Olalekan of the People Democratic Party, PDP with fifteen thousand, three hundred and twenty eight votes.

The Akoko North-East/ North-West Federal constituency seat became vacant following President Bola Tinubu’s appointment of the occupant, Mr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo as Minister of Interior.
