Popular Yoruba movie Actor Kunle Afod has revealed one of the reasons he was banned from appearing in film making for some time, while also stating what happened between him and the movie marketers that led to the ban.
In an interview, Afod disclosed that he was banned from film making by marketers because of what he did to them at the time.
According to him, he said, “I’m someone who always observes situations, and I think ahead. When we were still in the era of cassette for film recording, I already knew that CD was coming to take over, and I informed some marketers that CD would soon take over from cassette. When DVD came, it was better than CD, and we adopted it immediately too. When it got to the era of uploading our movies on the internet, the marketers weren’t aware of it, and we told some of them about it, but they didn’t listen, and we started uploading our own movies on the internet. Instead of the marketers asking me about it, they saw me as somebody who wanted to ruin their market. I was banned from film making by marketers because of what I did to them. They later called me for a meeting, and I explained everything to them. When it was clear to them that I didn’t mean any harm, I told them to announce that they had lifted the ban on me, but they refused to do so, and I decided to part ways with them.”
