House Of Reps Member Orders Arrest Of Blogger For Exposing Corruption
He was accused of “cyberstalking and criminal character assassination.”
The police in Kwara State acting on the orders of a lawmaker representing Ilorin East/South Federal Constituency, Yinka Aluko, have detained a blogger identified as Abdulsamad Oloyin.
SaharaReporters gathered that Oloyin was arrested during the week for exposing corruption within the federal constituency.
He was accused of “cyberstalking and criminal character assassination.”
The blogger, Abdulsamad Oloyin is a blogger that runs a page on Facebook named AWOKO ILORIN.
“The page exposes corruption and runs social commentaries about Ilorin, Kwara state. He was arrested at the behest of Honorable Aluko, a member of the House of Representatives,” a source informed SaharaReporters on Saturday.
In another release from Yinka Aluko camp, the federal lawmaker said he distanced himself from the blogger. They also accused the blogger of defamation, though Awoko Ilorin is known for exposing corrupt practices.
Hon. Yinka Aluko, representative of Ilorin East/South Federal Constituency in the 10th Federal House of Representatives, has distanced himself from Abdulsamad Oloyin (YOLO), “who has been disguising himself as Awoko Kwara on Facebook to defame politicians in Kwara State.”
“YOLO was unmasked by security agencies, following a tip-off from confidential sources. YOLO, who claims membership of the APC in the morning and the PDP at night, was unmasked and arrested after defaming Iyalojas and accusing the military of genocide despite their commendable efforts against non-state actors,” the politicians’ account claimed.
