Hon. Timehin Adelegbe to Install 3,000 Solar-Powered Streetlights Across Owo/Ose Federal Constituency

In a bold step towards improving community infrastructure and enhancing security across his constituency, the member representing Owo/Ose Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, Hon. Timehin Adelegbe, has announced the commencement of the installation of 3,000 solar-powered streetlights across various communities in the constituency.

This project is part of his commitment to delivering the dividends of democracy and fulfilling his campaign promises to the people of Owo and Ose. The initiative aims to improve security, boost night-time economic activities, and enhance the overall standard of living in both rural and urban areas.

Bringing Light to Every Corner, The constituency has moved beyond merely installing lights along major roads. The new phase of the project will extend to local communities, religious institutions, traditional palaces, security formations, and the homes of key community leaders. The goal is to ensure that every segment of society feels the impact of good representation. From churches and mosques to traditional institutions, security posts, and community leaders, no one will be left behind.
Beneficiaries in Owo Local Government

In Owo Local Government, the first batch of beneficiaries includes several prominent leaders such as Barr. Kola Olawoye, Chief Tunde Olaposi, Omolola Adedugba, Engr. Arigbede, Pastor O.O. Johnson, and Olori Olagbegi Aina, among others.

The installation will also cover places of worship like the Celestial Church, C.A.C Number 1, The Apostolic Church, and key security offices such as the Owo A & B Division Police Stations, Civil Defense offices, NDLEA Office, and various security posts across communities like Isuada, Iyere, and Usho.
Traditional institutions, including Asuada Palace, Oluyere Palace, Olupenmen Palace, Olose Palace, Alamurin Palace, and the Alale Palace, are also set to benefit from the solar lighting installations.
Extensive Coverage in Ose Local Government

Over 25 farming camps such as Iwoye, Ade, Daji, Otaloro, Asara, Abusoro, and Arimogija Camps are listed to benefit, a move that will drastically improve night-time safety and ease movement within these agrarian communities.

Religious Institutions and Palaces to Benefit, The project will illuminate numerous churches and mosques across the constituency, including:

Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Idoani
C.A.C Oke Isegun, Ifon

Support for Security Agencies, All police divisions, Amotekun offices, Civil Defense commands, FRSC posts, and NDLEA offices across the two local governments will be equipped with solar-powered streetlights to aid night operations and enhance safety.

Community and Non-Indigene Inclusion,in his inclusive approach, Hon. Adelegbe also extended the gesture to leaders of non-indigene communities, including the heads of Hausa, Igbo, Ebira, Idoma, and Igarra groups in Owo to ensure that every resident benefits regardless of origin or religion.

A Step Towards Sustainable Development
This solar-lighting initiative marks another milestone in Hon. Adelegbe’s continuous efforts to promote sustainable development through renewable energy. Beyond improving visibility and security, it will also help reduce reliance on the national grid and minimize carbon emissions.

The project is expected to be implemented in phases, beginning with identified strategic locations before expanding to cover additional communities and institutions across the constituency.
Hon. Adelegbe’s Vision
Hon. Timehin Adelegbe reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to the welfare of his constituents, pledging to continue implementing people-centered projects that will touch every home and community.
