HON. SULAIMON FATAI ADESHOLA, MANAGING DIRECTOR, BRAINCREST NIGERIA LIMITED & APC CHIEFTAIN, IKORODU LOCAL GOVERNMENT, LAGOS STATE, URGES IKORODU RESIDENTS TO GET PVCs
Ikorodu, Lagos State – Hon. Sulaimon Fatai Adeshola, the Managing Director of Braincrest Nigeria Limited and a frontline chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ikorodu Local Government, has called on residents of Ikorodu to take the ongoing Permanent Voter Card (PVC) collection exercise seriously.
In a statement made available to journalists, Hon. Adeshola emphasized that the PVC remains the strongest weapon in the hands of the people to influence governance and determine the direction of leadership at both local and national levels. He noted that true democracy can only thrive when citizens are fully involved in the electoral process.
According to him, the people of Ikorodu must not take the exercise lightly, as the future of their community and Lagos State at large is tied to the choices they make through the ballot. He particularly urged the youths, women, and other stakeholders to mobilize themselves and ensure they collect their PVCs.
“Democracy is about participation, and participation begins with having a voter’s card. The PVC is not just an identification card; it is the power to elect credible leaders and hold them accountable. I am appealing to all our people in Ikorodu to rise to this civic responsibility. Let us not allow apathy or negligence to deny us the opportunity to shape our collective future,” Hon. Adeshola said.
He also commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for sustaining efforts to ensure wider voter registration and PVC distribution, while urging the commission to further decentralize the process to make it easier and faster for residents.
Hon. Adeshola reaffirmed his commitment to the progress of Ikorodu, stressing that active civic engagement, beginning with the collection of PVCs, is the foundation of sustainable development and good governance.
“As a people, we must realize that governance is a collective responsibility. If we want change, growth, and accountability, then we must first perform our civic duty. The PVC is the key to that process, and I urge everyone in Ikorodu not to relent until they have theirs,” he added.
With this call, Hon. Sulaimon Fatai Adeshola has joined other well-meaning leaders in Lagos State who continue to sensitize the people on the importance of PVC ownership, stressing that political apathy can no longer be an option for responsible citizens.
