Hon. Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim is a Nigerian politician and businesswoman who has served in several key government roles. She previously held the position of Director-General at the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), where her impressive reforms and progress garnered widespread praise. Her achievements at NAPTIP led to her redeployment in May 2021 as the Federal Commissioner of the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants, and Internally Displaced Persons. Her impactful work there demonstrated her strong capacity to deliver, gaining recognition from key figures, including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who identified her as instrumental to achieving his administration’s Renewed Hope agenda.
In August 2023, she was appointed as the Minister of State for Police Affairs, marking a historic milestone as the first female to hold this position. Her outstanding performance further earned her special recognition, leading to a role in the cabinet reshuffle. On October 23, 2024, she was reassigned as the substantive Minister of Women Affairs. Given her track record, she is expected to bring much-needed reforms to the ministry, positively impacting the lives of Nigerian women across the country.
