Hon. Hammandikko Leads Inspection of Kiri Dam, Reaffirms Commitment to the Renewed Hope Agenda in Agriculture.
Upon resumption of duty, the Executive Director of Agricultural Services at the Upper Benue River Basin Development Authority, Hon. Dahiru Hammandikko (Dan Kade Adamawa), accompanied by Mr. Babangida Damare from the Sugar Development Council, Abuja, and other distinguished board members, undertook a significant familiarization and inspection tour of the Kiri Dam and Tallum Irrigation Scheme in Guyuk Local Government Area on the 28th of April, 2025. This strategic visit is in line with the implementation goals of the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, aimed at revitalizing the agricultural and water resource infrastructure across the nation. The inspection was focused on ensuring that the ongoing projects at both sites are executed according to specifications, uphold engineering best practices, and align with federal developmental objectives.
During the tour, the delegation carefully assessed the progress of irrigation works, water management systems, and land preparation processes, engaging with project engineers, site supervisors, and local stakeholders. The team emphasized the need for compliance with technical standards and reinforced the federal government’s commitment to boosting food security, promoting sustainable farming, and empowering rural communities. The Kiri Dam, being a key asset for water supply and irrigation in the region, is central to the Authority’s efforts to expand dry-season farming and optimize resource use under the renewed development blueprint.
The presence of high-ranking officials such as Hon. Hammandikko and Mr. Damare highlighted the seriousness and proactive stance of the board members in carrying out their mandates.
