Himma Youth Farmers Association Partners with Jaiz Takaful Insurance Ltd
In a strategic move aimed at supporting youth-led agriculture and enhancing financial security for farmers, the Himma Youth Farmers Association of Nigeria has partnered with Jaiz Takaful Insurance Ltd.
During a recent courtesy visit to the corporate office of Jaiz Takaful in Abuja, the Managing Director, Mr. Ibrahim U. Shehu, warmly received a high-powered delegation from the Association. The team was led by Mr. Ahmed Yusuf, National President of the Association, accompanied by Engr. Anthony Adeola, Vice President; Maryam Bello Ndayako, National Coordinator; AbdulHamid Ahmed, Organising Secretary; and Comrade Adegoke Yinka Adebayo, South West Coordinator.
The meeting focused on building a mutual partnership that would enable Himma Youth Farmers to access Shariah-compliant, affordable insurance products tailored to the needs of farmers and agribusiness owners across Nigeria.
Mr. Shehu expressed Jaiz Takaful’s readiness to support initiatives that empower the agricultural sector and promote financial inclusion for young farmers. He described the partnership as timely and aligned with the company’s mission of fostering social protection through ethical insurance models.
Mr. Ahmed Yusuf, on his part, emphasized the importance of securing farmers’ investments against risks such as crop failure, livestock loss, and market shocks. He hailed the partnership as a bold step toward achieving food security and economic sustainability for young people in agriculture.
The collaboration is expected to roll out specialized insurance schemes to cover various segments of the agricultural value chain in the coming months.
