Himma Youth Farmers Association Moves to Disburse Soft Loans to Genuine Farmers
Abuja, Nigeria – August 3, 2025
In a move to support grassroots agricultural development and empower young farmers across the country, the Himma Youth Farmers Association of Nigeria held a high-level meeting yesterday to discuss the disbursement of its forthcoming soft loan scheme.
The meeting, chaired by the Association’s National President, Ahmed Yusuf, alongside his Vice President, Engr. Anthony Adeola, focused on ensuring transparency and effective targeting of beneficiaries. The leaders reaffirmed the Association’s commitment to reaching genuine, practicing youth farmers across all regions.
In attendance was the National Consultant to the Association, Alhaji Mahmood Nyako, who commended the initiative and stressed the importance of due diligence in the disbursement process. He urged the leadership to “ensure that the loans go directly to the real farmers who are on the field, not political farmers or middlemen.”
Alhaji Nyako highlighted the potential of the soft loan scheme to boost food security, reduce youth unemployment, and scale up local agricultural production, if properly implemented.
The leadership assured members that the loan disbursement would be fair, inclusive, and transparent, with monitoring mechanisms in place to track usage and impact at the grassroots level.
The Himma Youth Farmers Association of Nigeria continues to serve as a key platform for promoting youth participation in agriculture and addressing challenges facing young agro-entrepreneurs across the country.
