Himma Prepares for Bida Town Hall Meeting and Courtesy Visit to Emir of Nupe
The Himma Youth Farmers Association (HIMMA) is intensifying preparations for two major engagements in Bida, Niger State — a strategic Town Hall Meeting and a courtesy visit to the Emir of Nupe, His Royal Highness Alhaji (Dr) (Brig. Gen.) Yahaya Abubakar.
According to HIMMA, the Town Hall Meeting will serve as a platform for dialogue between farmers, youth groups, agricultural stakeholders, policymakers, and community leaders. Discussions will focus on capacity building, access to farm inputs, market linkages, and innovative agricultural practices aimed at boosting productivity and creating economic opportunities for young farmers across the region.
President Ahmed Yusuf, alongside the newly appointed National Vice President, Engr. Anthony Adeola, is spearheading the organization of both events. Their joint leadership underscores HIMMA’s commitment to fostering strong community relationships and encouraging collaboration between traditional institutions, government agencies, and the agricultural sector.
Speaking ahead of the engagements, President Ahmed Yusuf reaffirmed the Association’s dedication to empowering young farmers. “We believe that agriculture is not only a pathway to food security but also a tool for economic empowerment, especially for our young population,” he said.
Hajia Mariam noted that the courtesy visit to the Emir of Nupe will further strengthen HIMMA’s partnership with traditional leadership, recognizing the Emir’s vital role in mobilizing community participation and promoting agricultural development in Niger State and beyond.
In a key moment leading up to the events, Engr. Anthony Adeola was officially presented with his appointment letter as National Vice President by the National Working Committee of HIMMA. This strategic appointment is expected to enhance the Association’s leadership capacity and accelerate its vision for youth-focused agricultural transformation.
Engr. Adeola also expressed his deep appreciation to Alhaji Mohammed Nyako for his contributions, advice, and moral support towards the Association’s growth and success.
With preparations in full swing, HIMMA continues to position itself as a leading voice for youth in agriculture — inspiring innovation, creating sustainable opportunities, and contributing to national food security.
