Governor makes new Appointments
The Governor of Abia State Dr. Alex Otti, OFR, has approved the appointment of a ten-member Advisory Council on Electricity to boost significant improvement in the electricity sector.
This was made known in a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Kenneth Kalu, FCA on Thursday, July 3, 2025.
The newly constituted council is expected to advise the state government on strategies to improve electricity supply, drive energy sector investments, and support the implementation of power-related policies across the state.
The members of the Abia State Advisory Council on Electricity are: Dr. Sam Amadi as Chairman, Engr. Ikechukwu Monday as Co-Chairman, Engr. Kachy Etolue as Secretary, Dr. Abdussalam Yusuf, Engr. Vincent Ozuode, Engr. Tasiu Wudil, Mr. Emeka Onyegbule, Engr. David Eichie, Dr. Joy Oti, and Ivie Ehanmo as Members.
The council, comprising seasoned professionals in engineering, energy policy, and power sector law, is expected to play a key role in transforming Abia’s energy landscape in line with the Otti administration’s infrastructure and development agenda.
