Galadima, APC Govt Critic, Praises Tinubu For Selectively Giving Daughter Job Immediately After NYSC Scheme

Buba Galadima, a longtime critic of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and chieftain of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), has publicly praised President Bola Tinubu for helping secure a federal government job for his daughter shortly after she completed her National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).
Galadima, a key ally of NNPP presidential candidate Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and a prominent voice in the opposition Kwankwasiyya movement, made the revelation during a recent appearance on an AIT programme.
Narrating the incident, Galadima disclosed that after finishing NYSC, his daughter struggled to find employment.
According to him, in a moment of desperation, his children stumbled on Tinubu’s contact on his phone and decided to call the President directly.
“We are friends and we will continue to be friends. If I like anything from him, I can ask and I will get,” he said.
He recounted how one of his daughters, a medical doctor, called Tinubu.
The President picked up, believing it was Galadima himself. Upon learning that it was Galadima’s children on the line, Tinubu reportedly expressed familiarity and assured them of assistance.
Galadima explained that one of his daughters, who had just completed her NYSC, told Tinubu she needed a job at the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC).
According to him, Tinubu immediately called the NUPRC boss, Gbenga Komolafe, and directed him to offer her employment.
He continued: “In fact, let me confess to you, my daughter did NYSC, that one who lost her passport, that was when she wanted to go to Mecca to thank God.
“She looked for job, she wanted to get a job, they could not give her. So one of them, her senior sister, a medical doctor, they scrolled through my phone and saw the President’s number, and called the Mr President. And he picked the phone, thinking that it was me. So they said they are my children, that they are calling him because country is hard – ‘Our father cannot get any job for us, our father cannot do this for us, and he told us that you are his friend.’
“He said yes of course, I am his friend. The little one said she just finished NYSC and that she could not get a job (at Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC)); he (Tinubu) just asked and called Komolafe, go and give my friend’s daughter job. That is why she (my daughter) wanted to go to Mecca to thank God and to thank Mr President.”
The NNPP chieftain didn’t stop there. In what appeared to be a veiled jab at former President Muhammadu Buhari, under whom he worked for over a decade, Galadima said Buhari offered his daughter no help, despite her serving in his government for four years.
And me that I worked for Buhari for 13 years, my daughter worked for him for four years, he instructed that she should not be paid salaries,” Galadima lamented. “Let them bring any voucher where she was paid. She worked for Buhari for four years without salaries.”
