A fridge repairer identified as Yunusa Abdullateef has reportedly hanged himself after allegedly stealing a motorcycle in Ilorin, Kwara State capital.

The incident occurred penultimate Wednesday at Ita Ogunbo, in Ilorin West Local Government Area of Kwara State.

According to a resident, who simply identified himself as Mr Abdul, the deceased allegedly committed the act out of shame after he stole a motorcycle in the community.

“After he stole the motorcycle, he left home and went into hiding but was reported to the community which launched a manhunt and apprehended him.

Abdul said, “Some of the residents close to him said he complained that the shame and social stigma would be too heavy for him to bear.”

He added, “He was seen hanging himself in his room in the house where he lived.”
