News of his demise broke on Sunday evening. He was 64 years old.

Though his family is yet to make any announcement about his death, reports have it that the former council boss died in a Lagos hospital where he was rushed to on Friday, 7 February 2025, due to complications from diabetes.

Despite efforts to stabilise him, he passed away today, Sunday, 9 February 2025. Oke had reportedly battled the disease for several years before his demise.

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress APC was a two-term chairman of one of the biggest local governments in Lagos and completed his last term in 2021.

He has since remained and formed the Hope Alive Group- a political movement in Lagos coordinated by him.
