The ultimatum was handed down on Saturday by the Katsina state task force for the promotion of food security.
About 250 warehouses identified to be hoarding grains were told to open and sell to the public or risk being forced open.
The task force headed by the Chief of Staff to the Katsina State governor, Jabiru Tsauri gave the ultimatum during an inspection to suspected areas in the state capital.
Food crisis in the banditry troubled state has caused untold hardship, forcing the state government to constitute the task force to address the situation.
