Exclusive Interview with Pastor Yakubu Mopgung, Senior Pastor and Founder of Household of Faith Church, Yelwa Bauchi, on the Controversial Allegations by Bala Mohammed

Happy Sunday and good day sir. Can you introduce yourself sir,
Pst Mopgung.
My name is Pastor YAKUBU Mopgung, The founder and senior Pastor of Household of Faith Church Yelwa Tsakani Bàuchi.
Adeleke reporters. I want to know your perspectives on the trending news on social media of One Bala Mohammed From Dass local government, Bàuchi State. Who released pictures of over 57 Christian women and girls which he alledged to have slept with them and many more.
Pst. Mopgung. This Man did not did this as an individual, but in collaboration of some yet to be identified backers who would have given support to do this in order to get at Christian faith for a ridicule.
Come to think of it, have you a man who slept with someone’s wife an illegal thing and post it online when he knows the husband will not take it lightly with him?
He knows the consequences and he won’t try to do that because if he is cought the law will catch up with him.
Which means it was a calculated attempt to mallinged those involve to promote one religion and ridicule another.
Adeleke reporters. Someone may say why will you blame the man Instead of the ladies who went to him?

Nobody is exhonorating the women and girls involved, but to post these women and their faces without covering it goes against the privacy, they deserve to given some level of protection again such exposure considering effects it will have on them. Ok what if it was the other way round say a Christian slept with Muslim married women and ladies and post same, would you have imagine what will happen to the person and christian in Bàuchi now?
Do you know the implications of this to some marriages? From the reports we are receiving so far some of the victims have been told to leave the Marital homes by their husbands, others who were engaged, the wedding plans has been cancelled because this publication.

What is call on the governor of Bàuchi state on this matter?
Pst Mopgung.
I am calling His. Excellency, Sen. Bala abdulkadir mohammed to interven on behalf of this vulnerable people and christian community by investing this matter and take appropriate actions against the culprit to serve and deterant against such inappropriate behavior. This will go a long way to give a sense of belonging to the christian community in Bàuchi state.

What is your call on the leadership of CAN/ PFN Bàuchi state chapter on this matter?
Pst. Mopgung. Before I granted this interview after church service, I had already spoken to the PFN chairman in Bàuchi by 3am Sunday morning urging him to laias with their CAN Counterpart to collaborate with the national body for immediate intervention on this matter, they just speak for us to be take serious when it comes to this matters. These women deserve protection and not to be used as objects.
Adeleke reporters. What is your call on Government and NGOs who are dedicated to advocating and addressing sexual abuse, privacy and women related abuses.
Pst Mopgung.
I am making a passionate call on these women rights organizations such as
1. Women right advocacy protection alternative (WRAPA)
2. Project alert on violence against women
3. International Federation of women lawyers
4. Women aid collective ( WACOL)
5. Action aid Nigeraia. (AAN)
I call on all these organisms to rise up in defence of these women whose privacy was violated to get justice for them.
Adeleke reporters. What is your call to the National body of CAN/PFN on this matter?
Pst Mopgung. I call the National president of both Christian bodies to rose to this occasion to petition the presidency for government intervention to give the christendom a sense of belonging to the country. We should come together tonight our common enemy instead of in fighting on doctrine but our focus should be on Jesus! And the salvation of unbelievers band the safeguard of those who profess the Christian faith.

What you call to christians generally?
Pst Mopgung. Let’s stop playing church, and stop dragging the name of Christ in the mud, let’s be truly born again and committed to our profession of our faith and live life’s worthy of our calling as christians
