Ekiti Govt Debunks ‘Purported’ Judgement on Reinstatement of Sacked Workers, Warns Against Breaching Peace in Ekiti.

Ekiti State government through the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Dayo Apata, has debunked the ‘purported’ judgement calling for the reinstatement of sacked TESCOM and Civil Service Commission workers in the state.

In a statement in Ado-Ekiti, the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice stated that the matter is still ongoing at the Court of Appeal and warned the group against breaching the peace of the state in any form of protest.

Apata disclosed that most of the affected workers have been employed back to the service of Ekiti State under the administration of Governor Biodun Oyebanji adding that any form of protest is a disservice to the state government.

The statement reads: “The attention of the Office of the Honourable Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Ekiti State has been drawn to the purported Notice of Protest dated 19th November, 2025 issued by a group of people purporting to be TESCOM and Civil Service Commission Workers appointed in 2018 and derecognized in 2019 seeking to embark on protest against Ekiti State Government based on judgment obtained from National Industrial Court, Akure.

“I wish to inform the public that these people do not have any valid judgment against the State Government as the matter is currently at the Court of Appeal.

“Therefore, these categories of people are to respect the sanctity of the Court and desist from breaching the peace of the State.

“It is equally important to inform the public that majority of them (over 34 in number) have been employed back to the service of Ekiti State by the present administration via several recruitments already carried out by Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji.

“Hence, their action to embark on protest against the State Government is unbecoming and a disservice to the Government of Ekiti State.

“It is instructive to state that since parties have submitted to the jurisdiction of the Court, any form of protest would amount to self-help and be regarded as contempt of Court.”
