CHURCH SERVICE THANKSGIVING: Chairman Esan Owolabi Celebrates Children’s Day in Grand Style at CAC Okeisegun Irun
As part of the activities marking the 2025 Children’s Day celebration, the Executive Chairman of Akoko Northwest Local Government in Ondo State, Hon. Esan John Owolabi JP, commemorated the occasion in grand style at Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) Okeisegun Number One, Irun Akoko. His visit to the church underscores his unwavering commitment to his administration’s “Ease Agenda,” aimed at spreading meaningful development to every corner of the local government.
Speaking during the special thanksgiving service, Chairman Owolabi emphasized the need for parents and guardians to prioritize their children’s moral and academic upbringing. He condemned the growing trend of cohabitation among students in tertiary institutions, describing it as a disturbing development that requires urgent attention.
“Children’s Day is not just for celebration but a time for reflection and rededication to the proper upbringing of our future leaders,” Owolabi stated. “Parents must be vigilant and make their children’s welfare their foremost priority.”
He called on parents to work closely with the government in addressing societal vices and safeguarding the moral values of the younger generation.
The presiding pastor of CAC Okeisegun Number One, Pastor Idowu, echoed the chairman’s message, urging parents to raise their children in the way of the Lord. He commended Chairman Owolabi’s commitment to development and moral reform in Akoko Northwest.
In his closing remarks, the Chairman appreciated the church for its consistent prayers for Nigeria, Ondo State, and Akoko Northwest. He reaffirmed his administration’s readiness to deliver on its mandate and ensure transformational development across the local government.
“I am here to celebrate this year’s Children’s Day with you and assure you of our dedication to the trust you’ve placed in us,” he said.
Among the dignitaries in attendance were the Chairperson of the Local Government, Mrs. Grace Owolabi; Local Government Secretary, Hon. Olusegun Musa; Councillor representing Odo-Irun Ward 8, Hon. Osanyintade Samson; Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Olagoke Adeyanju; Mrs. Folayan Folayemi; and High Chief Olowe.
Also present were Mrs. Daramola Iyabo, a representative of the local government, and High Chief Ologun of Iboropa Akoko.
