Chief Lawrence Adenugba Urges Yoruba and Other Major Ethnic Groups to Rally Behind President Tinubu Ahead of 2027

As Nigeria moves steadily toward the 2027 general elections, key political figures are beginning to shape the national discourse around unity, performance, and the future of governance. One of such voices is that of Chief Lawrence Adenugba, a respected chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from Ondo State, who has called on the Yoruba people and other major ethnic groups across the country to throw their full support behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Chief Adenugba, known for his grassroots political influence and unwavering loyalty to the APC, made this appeal during a recent political forum in Akure, Ondo State. Speaking on the importance of national unity and continuity in governance, he emphasized that the re-election of President Tinubu in 2027 would be a strategic step toward consolidating Nigeria’s development and sustaining the reforms initiated under his current administration.

According to Chief Adenugba, President Tinubu has demonstrated visionary leadership despite inheriting a challenging economic and security landscape. He pointed to key reforms in the oil and gas sector, foreign investment policies, and infrastructure development as signs of a government that is laying a solid foundation for sustainable growth.

He acknowledged that while some of the policy decisions—such as the fuel subsidy removal and currency unification—have been met with public resistance, they are necessary sacrifices for long-term stability. Adenugba urged citizens to remain patient and supportive as the administration works toward reducing inflation, increasing employment, and restoring investor confidence.

Chief Adenugba also addressed the growing concern of ethnic and regional sentiments that often divide the electorate during national elections. He stressed the need for ethnic groups—especially the Yoruba, Hausa, Igbo, and others—to move beyond regional interests and focus on supporting leaders with proven track records.

“The 2027 elections should not be about tribe or tongue, but about capacity, vision, and national progress,” he said. “President Tinubu has what it takes to lead Nigeria into a new era of prosperity. He deserves our collective support.”

As a senior APC figure in Ondo State, Chief Adenugba expressed confidence in the party’s internal structures and its preparedness for future electoral battles. He called on party members at all levels to remain united, avoid internal crises, and work together to deliver democratic dividends to their constituents.

He also encouraged the youth and women within the APC to become more politically active, noting that the party’s future depends on inclusive participation and visionary leadership at the grassroots level.

Chief Lawrence Adenugba’s call for broad-based support for President Tinubu ahead of 2027 is more than a political endorsement—it’s a rallying cry for national cohesion, informed citizenship, and a commitment to the principles of democracy. As Nigeria stands at a critical juncture in its democratic journey, voices like his are pushing for a collective re-evaluation of how leadership is judged—not by ethnicity or region, but by performance, vision, and capacity to deliver.
