Chief Lawrence Adenugba Salutes Governor Aiyedatiwa for Approving Recruitment of 500 Amotekun Officers
In a strong show of support for the Ondo State Government’s renewed commitment to public safety, Chief Lawrence Adenugba has applauded Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa for approving the recruitment of 500 additional Amotekun officers.
Chief Adenugba described the Governor’s decision as “a bold and commendable step that reflects true leadership and genuine concern for the protection of lives and property across the state.”
According to him, the security challenges confronting Nigeria today demand proactive measures, and Governor Aiyedatiwa has demonstrated that safeguarding the people remains his administration’s top priority.
He noted that the expanded recruitment will boost community policing, strengthen rapid response capacity, and enhance surveillance across rural and urban communities.
Chief Adenugba further stated that Ondo State has always been a front runner in the SouthWest’s security architecture, and the latest move will reinforce the operational effectiveness of the Amotekun Corps.
He expressed optimism that with more trained personnel, the state will witness a decline in criminal activities and improved confidence among residents, farmers, business owners, and travelers.
He also urged the new recruits to serve with integrity, discipline, and courage, emphasizing that the Amotekun Corps carries the trust and expectations of the people.
Chief Adenugba concluded by calling on all stakeholders traditional rulers, community groups, and citizens to continue supporting the government’s efforts to make Ondo State safer and more secure for all.
