Chief Lawrence Adenugba Graces Lijebu 2025 Traditional Festival with Imperial Majesty Oba Dr. Olufaderin Adetimehin, High Chiefs, Olori, Sons and Daughters of Ile-Oluji Kingdom

The historic town of Ile-Oluji Kingdom in Ondo State was filled with joy, colour, and cultural pride as the people gathered to celebrate the 2025 edition of the Lijebu Traditional Festival. The event, which is one of the most anticipated cultural gatherings in the region, attracted indigenes from far and near, including traditional rulers, high chiefs, community leaders, and sons and daughters of the land.

Among the dignitaries present was Chief Lawrence Adenugba, a respected son of Ile-Oluji Kingdom, who played a key role in gracing the festival alongside the Paramount Ruler of the Kingdom, Oba Adetimehin, the Council of High Chiefs, and Olori.

Speaking during the celebration, Chief Adenugba commended the unity and resilience of the people, describing the Lijebu Festival as not just a cultural celebration, but also a platform that strengthens communal bonds, promotes peace, and preserves the rich heritage of Ile-Oluji Kingdom.

He further expressed gratitude to Oba Adetimehin for his exemplary leadership in sustaining cultural values and fostering harmony among the people. According to him, traditional institutions remain vital in promoting peace, unity, and development at the grassroots.

The festival was marked with colourful displays of traditional rites, cultural dances, music, and communal feasting, reflecting the depth of Yoruba tradition. For many indigenes who returned home for the celebration, it was also a time of thanksgiving and reunion with family and friends.

In his royal address, Oba Adetimehin appreciated the participation of all sons and daughters of Ile-Oluji Kingdom, both at home and in the diaspora, while urging them to remain steadfast in supporting the growth and progress of the land. He stressed the importance of cultural preservation as a pathway to identity, unity, and pride for future generations.

The 2025 Lijebu Festival did not only rekindle the spirit of tradition but also served as a reminder of the collective responsibility of the people towards building a greater Ile-Oluji Kingdom.

As the drums faded and the festivities came to an end, the message of peace, unity, and development echoed strongly, leaving indigenes hopeful for a brighter and more prosperous future.
